Remember that Jesus Christ...was raised from the dead. (2 Timothy 2:8)
Franciszek Gajowniczek was...in Auschwitz when a fellow inmate escaped.... Standard discipline...was to select 10 men....to starve to death. When Gajowniczek heard his name read, he sobbed, "My wife and my children."... A Franciscan priest and fellow inmate named Kolbe stepped forward and said, "I will die in his place. I have no wife or children."... Since that time Gajowniczek has gone back every year to...[honor] the man who died for him..... And in his yard he has placed a plaque...to remind others of his great sacrifice....
Paul [reminded] his young paster friend Timothy...that the Savior's death and resurrection provided hope, confidence, and the prospect of glory...[and] told him to remind others of these wonderful truths.
