Afflicted

It is good for me that I have been afflicted. (Psalm 119:71)

A man who was deep in debt...walked past the door of a wealthy businessman [each day on his way to work.] When the rich man learned of the debtor's plight, he decided to help him. One day as the poor man walked by, the wealthy man threw a heavy bag out the door and unintentionally struck him, slightly injuring him. When he picked up the bag, he heard the clinking of coins. Opening it, he was amazed to find that there was more than enough money to pay off his debt....

Sometimes life's troubles hit us like that heavy bag...but God can bring great gain into our lives through our burdens and trials.
